About Norrmalm
Stockholm’s center, also called City, offers culture, shopping streets, and lush parks.
Norrmalm extends from Strömmen in the south to Rådmansgatan in the north. Here you’ll find Sergels Torg, the Central Station, the Government Offices, and the Culture House (‘Kulturhuset’). A delightful mix of logistics and entertainment. Shop in the clothing chains on Drottninggatan, take a much-needed coffee break in Kungsträdgården, and don’t forget to visit the newly renovated food market Hötorgshallen.
You’ll also find plenty of culture experiences – from the Hallwyl Museum and the Mediterranean Museum to the Royal Dramatic Theatre and art galleries. On Drottninggatan, you will find the building Blå Tornet where the famous Swedish author August Strindberg lived 1849–1912. Deep dive into Swedish literary history and explore Strindberg’s old books, paintings, and writings. Just a stone’s throw away, you’ll find the park Humlegården, a green and calm oasis in the city pulse. Inside the park, you can also visit the Royal Library.
When you’re done with your shopping and cultural experiences, there’s a wide selection of luxurious and affordable restaurants to choose from. As for nightlife, there is everything you could want, whether you want a beer at a cozy pub or dance all night long at glamorous nightclubs. East, Café Opera, and Berns Salonger are just a few examples of gems in Norrmalm’s vibrant nightlife.
