The historic and magnificent Högberga Gård mansion, located in the center of Lidingö, has been a historic vantage point for connoisseurs since 1911. With a magnificent view of Stockholm’s inlet, you and your party can enjoy first-class food and drink for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition, they serve their luxurious afternoon tea on weekends. The mansion has several stately dining rooms of various sizes (plus a lovely terrace) – an exclusive setting that enhances the experience.

The restaurant serves high-quality food prepared from sustainable and locally produced quality ingredients from the seasonal larder with a strong focus on craftsmanship. The drinks, not least the wine, are of the same high standard and match the food well. In addition to an extraordinary dining experience, Högberga Gård offers a hotel, spa, conference facilities, and venues for weddings and other events. In addition, they can boast Sweden’s first Tuscan wine factory. In short, it’s the good life at a high level.

Ellery Beach House

Ellery Beach House isn’t just a top-notch spa hotel – they also have an excellent restaurant

Ellery Beach House on Lidingö is probably best known as a spa hotel – but don’t sleep on the restaurant. Palmers is absolutely worth a visit, even if you’re not there for a dip. As soon as you walk in, you catch the smell of the charcoal grill and get hit with flavors straight out of the Mediterranean – think Greek islands, Lebanese meze, and the energy of a Moroccan food market. The menu’s a mix of fish, meat, and veggie dishes, all with bold spices and fresh herbs that bring everything to life.

It’s not a quiet, candlelit kind of place. Palmers is loud in the best possible way – full of laughter, clinking glasses, and plates made to be passed around. The dining room has a slick, summery feel, with views over the pools and the water that make it feel like you’re on a resort somewhere far from the city. And if you’re an early bird in the area, Ellery’s hotel breakfast at Palmers is a highlight not to miss.

Quarti

At Quarti in Brevik, the focus is on the guests’ well-being. Their ambition is to be the nicest neighborhood restaurant in northern Europe, and they’ve come a long way towards that goal. Many rank it at the top among restaurants in Lidingö. The friendly staff delivers excellent service and in the welcoming premises, the atmosphere is always at its best. As well as the food – the dishes served are what the team behind the restaurant like.

Whether you’re in the mood for a three-course dinner with friends or family, dropping in spontaneously for a good home-cooked meal, or just want to have a beer at the bar, Quarti delivers a great experience. There’s something for everyone on the menu (including a children’s menu for younger guests), so you’re sure to find something to your liking. And the first Sunday of every month is Schnitzel Sunday – a guest favorite. The restaurant also offers catering and rental of its premises.

Bibliothek

In Lidingö center you’ll find Bibliothek – a lively and super nice restaurant and bar with a French touch. In a beautiful old brick building – which used to be a library (hence the name) – they serve well-prepared lunches (weekdays) and nice dinners. Plus a lovely brunch on Saturdays if you want to kick off the weekend in the best way. In addition, there’s a spacious and lovely lounge – the heart of the restaurant – where both large and small parties thrive.

If you like happenings, you’ll love Bibliothek. There’s always something nice going on. Several times a week you can come here for after-work hangouts, popular music quizzes, and great themes like “oysters and bubbles” or “meat and red wine”. Bibliothek also offers take-away and catering services. It’s also a dog-friendly restaurant if you want to bring your four-legged friend along.

450 Gradi

In the 1990s, Jesper Blomqvist, one of Sweden’s former football heroes, played professionally in Italy. From there he brought the art of cooking with him, not least baking pizza the Italian way, and today he is co-owner of a very popular restaurant and pizzeria in Lidingö, 450 Gradi, located in the modern area of Dalénum. In AGA’s old heritage-listed building, you get a wonderful Italian experience in everything from atmosphere to food – topped with a fantastic view of the inlet of Saltsjön.

The menu features a wide range of delicious Neapolitan wood-fired pizzas. And it’s not just any pizza that’s served here, as evidenced by the restaurant’s several awards. If you’re not in the mood for pizza, there are also other dishes from Italian cuisine such as pasta, ravioli, and risotto. Plus several starters and desserts (don’t miss the gelato). 450 Gradi also has a nice bar, and in summer you can enjoy your pizza on the restaurant’s sunny outdoor terrace or in the garden facing the water.

Quai

Quai is a food and wine bar in Dalénum where it’s easy to enjoy yourself. This lovely restaurant in Lidingö has become a popular meeting spot. Here you’re offered good food, delicious wines, and vinyl music – a winning concept that attracted many guests to the neighborhood restaurant. The fact that the venue is fantastically located on the quay overlooking the water makes things even better.

The menu at Quai offers something for everyone. Starters include skagen, burrata, and tartare. Among the main courses, you can choose from pasta, pizza, meat dishes, and salads. And if you’re in the mood for a delicious finish, there’s cheese, charcuterie, and sweet desserts. The wine list is updated regularly and has something for every taste.

If you want to end the weekend with a nice hangout, don’t miss the restaurant’s social Sundays. Here you can enjoy socializing, board games, video games, and great prizes at the bar.

Matcirkus Lidingö

If you’re looking for restaurants in Lidingö suitable for families (and most others too, for that matter), Matcirkus Lidingö is an optimal choice. What used to be Näsets Krog has been transformed into what they, themselves, call Lidingö’s food destination. And a destination it certainly is. This neighborhood restaurant has everything for everyone – with an atmosphere that is lively, unpretentious, and homey. Quite simply, it’s really nice. At least, if you’re here with your family, a jolly group of friends, or for a casual date with your partner.

The menu at Matcirkus is large and affordable with something for everyone. Snacks, salads, small dishes, grill dishes, burgers, kebabs, sandwiches, pasta, and pizza. Among other things. The concept consists of four parts – a restaurant with a bar, a fast-food section with street food, a café with smørrebrød (which in the evening turns into a social club), and catering plus events. There’s also a craft beer brewery on the premises, which organizes fun beer tastings, among other things. Plus a mini movie theater with popcorn for restless children. In short, a dining experience with extra everything.

Långängens Gård

Långängens Gård Lidingö

Lidingö is the urban area with the highest proportion of green space in Sweden (72%) and therefore offers many lovely walks in nature. And if you want to make a very pleasant stop on your walk (or just have a delicious dinner whenever the mood strikes), Långängens Gård is a hot tip. This restaurant and café is a super cozy rural idyll and historic setting dating back to 1770.

The kitchen philosophy at Långängens Gård is food cooked from scratch. Therefore, they have their own smoker to smoke delicacies, their own herb garden, and fruit from their own trees. The menu includes fine dishes prepared under the direction of a chef with qualifications from the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm and several prestigious restaurants in the US. The restaurant also has a cozy outdoor terrace, a chambre séparée for private events, and you can rent the venue for weddings and other occasions.

Långängens Gård

Restaurang Bryggan

If you want to have a nice meal in Gåshaga, you should aim for Restaurant Bryggan. It is, to say the least, located near the sea, right on the water next to Kyrkviken and Stockholm’s inlet. So not only does the food smell good here, but you can also smell the sea – while you study life in the marina right outside from the front row. Sounds pretty good, right?

The restaurant serves both lunch and dinner. The menu varies with the weather and the season, but the focus is on Swedish classics mixed with seasonal favorites and the occasional international element. And if you’re in the mood for a refreshing drink with the sunset as a backdrop on a summer evening, there are few places in Lidingö that beat Restaurang Bryggan.
