Pharmarium

Unique drinks in a beautiful vintage setting at Pharmarium

Pharmarium is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a great bar in Old Town. At the cozy Stortorget, you’ll find this acclaimed cocktail bar housed in an old pharmacy. It was once home to Sweden’s first public pharmacy, which opened in 1575, and perhaps the spirit of medicine inspired the bar’s unique drink mixes. Imagination has no limits behind the bar, and skilled bartenders mix 10/10 drinks with names like Whisky For The Holy Ghost, I Sat By The Forest, and Purple Haze.

If someone in your party doesn’t want cocktails, there are beer, wine, cider, and non-alcoholic drinks. And if you’re in the mood for something to eat, there are plenty of snacks and small dishes. Sit down on the bar stools at the stylish green marble bar, or take a seat on the comfortable sofas. Beautiful old pharmacy cabinets and wooden boxes on the walls, plus the checkered floor further enhance the interior.

Add impeccable service and a fabulous atmosphere, and you can see why Pharmarium is super popular. It’s wise to book in advance (but there are also some drop-in spots).

Melt Bar

Order a Punch Bowl and share the drink with up to nine friends!
Sometimes the setting of a bar is almost as important as the drink in the glass. You can’t always expect both. But at MELT Bar, they manage to create a colorful experience in more ways than one.

MELT Bar is a cocktail bar with a long and exciting drinks list. What really stands out is that the drink menu consists of their own variations on 1920s drinks. Of course, all the bartenders are dressed in the same pattern.

The bar transports you back to the wild and most forbidden entertainment world of the 1920s. Despite the alcohol ban, the drinks at MELT Bar flow in covered containers. For example, their punchbowls are served in what are supposed to be tea or coffee cups to fool the liquor police. Because it’s not only the city’s only burlesque bar, but also a top-secret speakeasy. They describe themselves as a speakeasy and cabaret in the heart of Stockholm.

The burlesque shows mix singing, dancing, acrobatics and jugglers. Thursdays feature a unique version of bingo with a burlesque twist, while Fridays and Saturdays are filled with all kinds of performances, not least of the spontaneous variety.

It’s hard not to get swept up in the buzz, although the well-stocked cocktail menu doesn’t hurt. Adding to the effect is the framing of black, gold and red in the winding floors.

Amidst the wild and adventurous, there is a palpable warmth. The atmosphere is familiar and it really feels like a lively party with good friends. And it’s not uncommon for visitors to dress in period clothing to take the experience to the next level. We fully understand them.
