Then you should head to the Terrassbaren at the hotel Scandic Anglais – which describes itself as Stureplan’s most secret rooftop bar. This hidden and intimate terrace bar, located in the middle of the city’s hottest entertainment district, can be found on the hotel’s seventh floor. Follow the signs, and you’ll soon end up on one of the city’s best bar hangouts with comfortable sofas and plenty of standing room. Simple, relaxed, and festive – just as it should be. And don’t forget the sunglasses because there’s sun almost all evening. With room for 100 people, there’s plenty of space to sip on a high-class signature cocktail with exciting flavors and perhaps munch something from the bar menu. Arrive in the afternoon for an after-work and then stay. Later in the evening, especially on the weekends, both the volume and the mood turn up a couple of levels and create a wonderfully festive atmosphere that lasts until the late hours. You might think that Stockholm’s rooftop bar scene is only tied to the city’s central areas? Then you haven’t been to The Winery Hotel in Solna. Their Winery Rooftop Terrace has been described as one of the world’s best rooftop bars, according to well-known international press such as Forbes and Vogue. Here we’re talking world-class rooftop and a given summer spot for the open-air terrace fan. The Winery Hotel roof offers not only a fantastic view of Hagaparken but also a heated pool where you can take a dip between drinks.

In addition, there are comfortable sun loungers where you can watch the sunset while drinking wine from the hotel’s own vineyard and eating lighter Italy-inspired finger food. Add some nice music (don’t miss the soul sessions on Fridays with great DJs), and a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere – Winery Rooftop Terrace really deserves its good reputation. The square Brunkebergstorg has become Stockholm’s rooftop bar cluster, and the hotel Downtown Camper also offers an excellent sky bar – The Nest Cocktail Lounge. This indoor bar is open to everyone and serves good signature cocktails in a cozy and quiet environment with magnificent views of Södermalm and Riddarfjärden. Outdoors there’s both a bar area and a spa with a heated pool that can be used all year round. Here, however, you need to book and pay a fee, but then you get access to one of the best rooftop pools at our latitudes. So, if you’re looking for a hotel with a pool in Stockholm, Downtown Camper is a natural choice.

102 meters up in the air in Hammarby Sjöstad, you’ll find the rooftop bar Sjöstaden Skybar. It’s located in the newly built landmark Sthlm 01, and here, a stone’s throw from the bridge Skanstullsbron, you have a mile-wide view of Årstaviken and the rest of Stockholm. The pleasant rooftop terrace invites you to socialize from lunch until late at night, and since it faces west, there’s a great chance for an Instagram-friendly sunset. On the terrace, you sip on a spritz (here’s a large selection) and enjoy small dishes inspired by the Mediterranean.

At the top of the modern design hotel Blique by Nobis, on the 11th floor, you’ll find Arc Rooftop. It’s a rooftop bar located in Vasastan, which makes it quite unique among rooftop bars in Stockholm. And Arc is definitely worth a visit if you’re craving delicious drinks in the sun, an urban atmosphere, and an outstanding 360-degree view of both Vasastan’s rooftops and the rest of the city.

The terrace and outdoor bar are open during the summer months, but the indoor restaurant is available all year round. Here you can enjoy a Korean sharing menu and à la carte dishes from different parts of Asia. The drinks menu also delivers; enjoy high-quality signature cocktails, beer, wine, and sparkling wine. And take the opportunity to try Arc Rooftop’s selection of Sake, traditional rice wine from Japan.

In a top location, 12 floors up on Malmskillnadsgatan, is the fantastic Italian restaurant Spesso, which is run by Stureplansgruppen. This spacious rooftop restaurant combines the best Italian cuisine with an international feeling a la New York and magnificent 360-degree views of the capital through panoramic windows surrounding the entire room. The menu at Spesso offers modern Italian food that follows the seasons, including handmade pasta, as well as exciting wines.

During the summer months, Spesso is joined by the green and lovely rooftop bar Tetto (which means rooftop in Italian). It’s a perfect summer destination if you want a good drink and simple food such as snacks, pizza, and charcuterie while you admire the city below you. You can spot everything from Djurgården’s beautiful nature to the classic NK clock. The fact that Tetto has DJs playing nice music every summer evening makes it even better. At Spesso, it’s recommended to book a table while Tetto has drop-in.

Södra Teatern at the square Mosebacke Torg in Södermalm is one of Stockholm’s iconic entertainment venues. During the summer they open their banquet hall on the 7th floor, called the Champagnebaren, to the public with room for 120 people.

This somewhat hidden gem has both an indoor part and a veranda that offers plenty of sunshine when the weather is good, together with breathtaking views in three directions – check out Stockholm’s beautiful inlet, Old Town (Gamla stan), and the historical Mosebacke Torg. As the name reveals, Champagnebaren offers a wide range of champagne and champagne drinks. Perfect for everything from a date with your partner to an evening with friends.

Since 2015, Stockholmers and visiting tourists have been hanging out on Slakthustaket during summer. The Slakthuset area, Stockholm’s meatpacking district, close to the Globe, Tele2 Arena, and Gullmarsplan, is one of the city’s most exciting areas right now. An old industrial area is transformed into an urban district, and Slakthustaket (also called TAK), located on top of an old abattoir, fits in perfectly.

The large terrace with a wooden deck is 600 square meters and has plenty of seating, palm trees, charcoal grill dishes, a good selection of cocktails, beer, and wine, plus everything else you may need. Very hang-out friendly, in other words. Music is an essential part of the experience at Slakthustaket, and here you can enjoy live DJs, electronic dance music, and summer sessions, among other things.
