The Winery Hotel – Sweden’s first boutique and urban winery hotel
The Winery Hotel in Solna is an urban winery hotel. Here you can have a guided tour of the winery, where the wine Winery Red is produced in-house from grapes harvested in the vineyard Terreno in Italy. You can also taste wines with a sommelier or on your own by using ‘Vinomaten.’
In the restaurant Winery Kitchen, you can have breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a wine package according to the monthly theme, or Sunday brunch full of Italian delicacies. In the deli shop Terreno Deli you’re served simpler food, and you can buy Italian deli meats, cheeses, and olive oils to take home with you. The hotel also has a gym and a sunroof with a pool and bar (open during spring and summer).

The Winery Hotel – live, enjoy and meet with wine in focus
Inside the wine hotel The Winery Hotel’s brick facade hides an airy lounge with breathtaking ceiling height, big olive trees, cognac brown leather sofas, and a turquoise Fiat 500. The industrial decor is mixed with wine barrels, wine boxes and photographs that reveal the design hotel’s Italian connections.
Among other things, Jan Söder was inspired by Brooklyn when he created the hotel’s design. The idea of a hotel with in house wine production on a ground that was just gravel and sand at the time came from Jan’s father Einar Söder. He has opened and managed hotels throughout his whole life, but nothing as niched as this.
The hotel opened in January, 2016, and imports grapes from Terreno in Tuscany, Italy. Terrano is the Ruhne family’s vineyard that they operate together with the Söder family. The vineyard is also where the hotel’s own wine Winery Red has been made.
“But in November, comes the first wine made here in our in house winery”, says Ida Arnkvist, Digital Marketing Manager.
Guests receive a Vinoteque card to pay with in ‘Vinomaten’. Each month there’s a new wine theme, so that guests can try a little of everything. The staff is happy to answer questions about the wine, and the hotel has 13 sommeliers. For those of you who want to know even more, the sommeliers are hosting wine tastings each evening Monday through Thursday. All evenings, except on Sundays, you can also get a guided tour of the winery and taste the wine Winery Red.
In the hotel restaurant, Winery Kitchen, you’re offered breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The lunch menu is served on weekdays and changes every week. In the evening you order from an à la carte menu, or choose a ready-made three-course menu with wine package, created from the wine theme of the month. This year they have a new Italian Sunday brunch. Enjoy hot and cold dishes such as pizza, pasta, deli meats, cheeses, salads, and the large selection of desserts.
In the deli shop Terreno Deli, you can have a light lunch or dinner. The pizza and pasta are popular among families and the delicacies – olives, olive oils, cheeses, deli meats and freshly baked bread – you can buy to take home. The hotel has a rooftop terrace with a year-round swimming pool, and a summer-open rooftop bar with a view of Solna. On the same floor is also a gym.
