Abreau Foods is a Swedish-Argentine family business where Argentinian traditions meet Swedish meat. The family came to Sweden in 1979, bringing a collection of secret family recipes. One of these recipes, his grandfather’s chorizo recipe, sparked founder Daniel Abreau’s interest in Argentinian cooking and led him to start Abreau Foods in 2020. The concept is to offer a unique product with the best of both worlds – Argentinian chorizo and Swedish meat. All are made with the finest ingredients and no additives.

To get closer to their customers, they now also have a popular food truck that you can find around Stockholm, for example the Slakthuset area and the Hornstull market. The menu includes grilled burgers and sausages that make the line of customers long. How about the spicy Stockholm Chorizon sausage made from Swedish corn chicken, the traditional hand-cut Argentinian chorizo Don Ylso (named after Daniel’s grandfather), or the Argentinian grill cheese Provoleta? Many people rank Checa as one of the best Latin American restaurants in Stockholm. This nice place is all about Peruvian cuisine, and they do everything to spread the Peruvian flavors to Stockholmers and everyone else. You visit this neighborhood restaurant for heavenly good Peruvian food, prepared with passion and heart from only the best ingredients. The recipes have been developed for generations and draw inspiration from, among other things, owner Valentin Checa’s childhood and his grandmother in Peru.

Especially Checa’s excellent ceviche makes this Latin American restaurant in Stockholm well worth a visit. This marinated delicacy comes in several varieties – sea bass, gambas, tuna, and salmon, plus a vegan version with roasted cauliflower, zucchini, and peppers, among other things. Delicious flavor explosions! The menu also includes fresh starters and main dishes where fish, shellfish, potatoes, chili, lime, and coriander dominate. Combine the food with something good from the drinks menu – perhaps a super tasty Pisco sour, a refreshing non-alcoholic Chicha Morada, cava, or Peruvian beer? You can also sit down with a drink in the pleasant wooden bar.

The environment is minimalistic but cozy, the atmosphere friendly, and the friendly staff gives you good service. Together with top-class Peruvian food, Checa has created a successful concept in Stockholm’s restaurant world. They were previously housed on Ringvägen but have moved into Nook’s old premises on Åsögatan. This means that this restaurant in Södermalm got an even better bar and the restaurant more seats.

Dignity is the place to be when you want delicious Chilean food

If you want to enjoy delicious homemade food with a taste of Chile, you should head to Dignity, located in Stora Mossen, Bromma. This Chilean restaurant, one of the few in the city, opened in 2022, and the owners’ ambition is to offer you the best of Chilean cuisine (and other parts of the wonderful South American food culture). 

At Dignity, the food is prepared with heart and passion. And they are fast. Perfect if you’re on the go or want to order takeaway and eat at home. But of course, you can also sit in the cozy restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. They serve both lunch and dinner, and the friendly staff will take good care of you.

The menu includes Chilean delicacies such as Empanadas, Pastel de Choclo, Completo Italiano, Torta de Milhojas, Pescado Frito, and Paila Marina. Everything is fresh, well-prepared, delicious – and reasonably priced. Many of the dishes as well as a tasty range of pastries can also be found at Café Dignity in Kungsgatan 15. So the next time you’re in the mood for high-quality Chilean food, head to Dignity.

Are you looking for tasty Latin American food in Vasastan? Then you should visit Trippel M, a cozy café on Vikingagatan that serves both food and coffee. Here you can indulge in South American delicacies, including salteñas and empanadas (South American savory pastries). Eat on the spot in the pleasant premises (25 seats), buy takeaway, or order home delivery.

If you’re in the mood for something other than Latin American, there’s a wide range of breakfast foods, from chia pudding and pancakes to Turkish yogurt and smoothies. If you come during lunchtime, you can enjoy delicious salads such as shrimp salad, Caesar salad, and chèvre salad. There are also plenty of delicious desserts and bubble tea if you’re craving something sweet.

If you want some good Mexican fast food in Stockholm, Zócalo is a great option. This restaurant chain has six locations in Stockholm (including several food halls) and delivers a great experience with the motto “Fresh Happy Mex.” Enjoy Mexican food cooked from scratch in an atmosphere inspired by the taquerias of San Francisco’s Mission District Mexican neighborhood. Traditional Mexican cuisine meets fresh Californian food culture – in the middle of Stockholm. The restaurants have a friendly vibe, and the colorful decor makes you smile. In short, eating here will make you happy (and fill you up, guaranteed).

At Zócalo, you can eat a wide range of delicious and fresh Mexican dishes. The menu includes burritos, bowls, tacos, quesadillas, burgers, and nachos. In other words, everything a Mexican food party needs. Of course, there are also several vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Plus, a children’s menu and desserts. And the fact that you get your food quickly is a bonus – perfect if you want a good meal on the go. La Neta

La Neta is a Mexican restaurant that has become a success in Stockholm’s restaurant world. It’s a traditional Mexican taquería where tacos, tortillas, and quesadillas are prepared just like in Mexico. They opened in 2009 and were back then Stockholm’s first real taquería. Their goal was – and is – to share the Mexican way of eating tacos with Sweden. And their concept has obviously been a hit among the guests – the line is often long, and now they have restaurants in both the city center, Södermalm, and Täby Centrum. In the city, there’s also La Neta Bar, where you can combine tacos with a nice bar hangout.

La Neta means the real deal, and that’s what they strive for – an authentic Mexican dining experience. And they’ve succeeded. The food breathes Mexican street food and is made from high-quality ingredients. The menu features a range of guest favorites, including many options for vegetarians and vegans. The restaurant’s tacos are super popular, and many also praise their quesadillas and nacho chips with guacamole. Not to mention the sauces… You wash down the food with beer or another good drink.

Tasty and affordable food combined with pleasant premises and a relaxed atmosphere make this a popular place to slip into when you’re in the mood for delicious fast food. No reservation is necessary. With exciting flavors and shared dishes, you get a social restaurant experience that’s perfect when you want to eat, drink, and socialize with family, friends, or colleagues. Sit down at one of the tables or, why not, in the bar – the restaurant’s jewel in the middle of the room – where you can both eat and sip a drink.

At Supper, you can eat both lunch, dinner, and brunch. And the menu at this restaurant in Östermalm contains only delights – from starters to desserts. Sirloin steak, beef tenderloin, gambas, chicken, tuna, sausages, slow-cooked ribs, and several vegetarian options. Round off the meal in the best way with, for example, chocolate cake or meringue swiss. On the drinks menu, you’ll find a large selection of red and white wines from Argentina, Chile, and the rest of the world, but also rosé, cava, champagne, cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic alternatives. Ceviche – a very popular Peruvian dish


Bistro & Bar Liberdade, located close to Nytorget in Södermalm, takes its name from the Japanese-Brazilian district of Liberdade in São Paulo, Brazil. And a Japanese and Brazilian fusion – a lovely one – is exactly what you get here. In a cozy and elegant environment with red velvet sofas, heavy draperies, plants, cane, and soft cushions, you can enjoy a modern bistro menu with a twist where popular bistro dishes are combined with Liberdade’s signature dishes. Flavorful and super tasty! Friendly staff, top-notch service, and DJs playing good music enhance the experience even more.

The extensive menu at Liberdade contains plenty of taste sensations. Among the smaller dishes, you’ll find oysters, squid, wild mushroom toast, and Japanese steak tartare. Those who are hungrier can have, for example, cod, fish and seafood stew, or roasted cauliflower. If you’re into grilled dishes, there are entrecôte, dorado, and smoked tofu, perfectly grilled on the restaurant’s Japanese charcoal grill (konro). And if you want to go big, order a Prato do Churrasco, Brazilian BBQ on a tray, or the “All In” tasting menu – a guaranteed unique food memory.

The drinks menu matches the food perfectly, and if you want to drop by for just a glass of wine or a drink – why not an after work – there’s an excellent bar with plenty of space. In short, Liberdade is a true Södermalm gem.

If you’re looking for Mexican restaurants in Stockholm, Xulo (pronounced “Choo-lo”) is an excellent choice for both lunch and dinner. Especially if you’re a true taco lover – many call their authentic tacos the best in town. In addition to super tasty tacos, the menu is full of Mexican classics such as quesadillas, burritos, and guacamole with totopos (homemade nachos). And the salsas are huge favorites among the guests.

There are exciting dishes here for both those who like to eat meat and those who are vegetarian. And no matter what you choose, you get to experience incredible flavors. Xulo is a fast food restaurant beyond the ordinary and has a lot of regulars. The venue is small and cozy with just a few tables, but the size is compensated by great service and atmosphere. As mentioned, their unique tacos are worth standing in line for, but if it’s full, all food is available as takeaway, and you can also have the goodies home delivered with Uber Eats or Foodora.

Tocayo is a Latin American restaurant in Stockholm combined with a wine bar. You can find them in Södermalm, more specifically at Hornstull. Together with the Mexican sister restaurant Chelas across the street, they offer culinary magic for those who want to take their taste buds on a trip to warmer latitudes.

The menu at Tocayo contains several exciting Latin American dishes that are served with a sharing concept. Try appetizers and entrees such as pimientos de padrones, empanadas, and Brazilian chicken croquettes. Or grilled dishes such as jumbo prawns, chorizo, or leeks with side dishes. And don’t miss the delicious mashed potatoes. For dessert, you can enjoy cheesecake or homemade pralines. The wine list at this popular Latin American wine bar includes many excellent wines, and Tocayo’s knowledgeable sommelier is happy to help with tips and advice.

Head to Årstadal and Chicha 08 to enjoy a culinary journey to Peru, where the country’s traditional dishes have been updated with new flavors, aromas, and exotic details. In their cooking, the experienced and passionate chefs (all of them originate from Peru) focus on quality with locally produced ingredients and meat from small producers.

At Chicha 08, you can eat both lunch and dinner, and the menu at this South American restaurant has plenty of delicacies. Among the starters, you can enjoy, for example, classic ceviche, grilled Swedish veal heart, or traditional Peruvian chili and cheese crème with potatoes and eggs. The main dishes offer highlights such as flambéed Swedish beef tenderloin with homemade fries or marinated and fried fish fillet with seafood and fried cassava.

The drinks menu includes, among other things, wine, beer, Pisco sour, Maracuya sour, Inca cola, and the corn juice chicha that has given the restaurant its name. Paladar de Cuba

At Paladar de Cuba on Tegnérgatan, they serve genuine good Caribbean and Cuban food that takes you on a culinary journey to warmer latitudes.
