Your guide to museums and attractions in Stockholm

Love museums, cool sights and stuff to do? Then Stockholm’s your city. It’s that perfect mix of history, culture and fun – with more than enough musuems and attractions to keep both locals and visitors busy. There’s always something new to see, and it’s great for kids, grownups and everyone in between.

Into Swedish history? Start at the Vasa Museum, head over to Skansen, and finish off at Riddarholmskyrkan. Strolling through Old Town (Gamla stan)? Duck into the Stockholm Cathedral or the German Church – the whole neighborhood feels like one big outdoor museum.

If palaces are your thing, the Royal Palace is right in the city. But if you want a bit of fresh air, Drottningholm and Haga are perfect. Both castles are stunning and surrounded by peaceful parks.

More into rollercoasters and modern vibes? Try the city’s iconic amusement park by the sea Gröna Lund for rides, Skeppsholmen for art, or the forest cemetery Skogskyrkogården (which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List) for a little reflection. And don’t skip sightseeing in Södermalm where history meets hipsters and homemade sourdough bread.

Stockholm’s packed with stuff to do, and we’ll show you where to go – whether you’re with the kids, out with friends, on a date or just exploring solo.
