Trattorian – a true Italian dining experience in Kungsholmen
Trattorian is the Italian restaurant for the whole family where you will be taken on an authentic dining experience a la Italia. Together with Orangeriet, La Cucina, and during the summer also Pontonen, the restaurant forms Destination Norr Mälarstrand, an Italian gastronomic center right by the glittering water of Riddarfjärden.
If you walk by at the fantastic walking path Norr Mälarstrand in Kungsholmen, you’ll discover that is hard to resist entering. For a bite of food or a drink. By yourself, with the family, with friends in small or large groups. And here you can pretty much drop by whenever you want – the restaurants are open almost 24/7, all year round.
“We’re here pretty much 24/7 with peaks in the summer and during Christmas,” says operation manager Johan Ringkrans. And in this gastronomic center at one of Stockholm’s most beautiful walking lanes there’s something for everyone:
Trattorian is an Italian restaurant for the whole family with a focus on first-class ingredients, simplicity, high quality, and genuine craftsmanship. In a lovely atmosphere, with a rustic and elegant feeling, you’re offered the best recipes and wines from all over Italy. In the large cast-iron oven, both fish and meat are grilled. The pasta is made daily from scratch, and the unique pizza dough that ferments for 48 hours is vegan. In short – you’ll be taken on a food journey through Italy that’ll stay with you for a long time.
Before your dinner at Trattorian, it’s perfect to make a pit stop at Orangeriet. Here you’ll find a fireplace, cozy sofas, good wines and well-mixed cocktails from the extensive range and many small dishes. With an incredible view of Riddarfjärden, it’s also a perfect place for lunch or a coffee break.
If you’re a larger party, there is also the alternative La Cucina, a banquet hall, or Chambre separée, which welcomes small and large parties of up to 64 people. Maybe you even want to help cooking the delicious buffet, an opportunity that is offered.
During the summer, the Trattorian is also complemented by Pontonen, a very popular destination for Stockholmers during the warm season. Why not start – or end – the night here with a drink and appetizers. With a panoramic view of Riddarfjärden that is hard to beat and a menu that offers the delicacies of the sea, you can experience Swedish summer at its best.
You can’t talk about Trattorian without mentioning the Italian Christmas buffet (‘julbord’). Here, the Stockholmers come in November and December to enjoy a different Christmas buffet with Italian flavors and specialties, a gastronomic journey through Italy and its culinary regions.
So, as mentioned: Why resist? Direct your steps to Norr Mälarstrand.
