Your guide to dog boarding i Stockholm
- Dog boarding facilities for your four-legged friend while you’re awayMany dogs thrive on having a regular routine, daily walks, and the right balance of attention and downtime. That means you can head off with peace of mind, knowing your dog is happy, safe, and being looked after in an environment that’s suited to their needs.
Find the right dog boarding facility in Stockholm
There are plenty of dog boarding facilities to choose from in and around Stockholm. Some are conveniently located close to residential areas and public transport, while others are set in quieter surroundings with lots of outdoor space, woodland, and large areas for dogs to run around.
The right choice depends on your dog, how long they’ll be staying, and what gives you peace of mind as an owner. Some dogs are happiest in smaller groups, while others enjoy being around lots of other dogs and a bit more activity.
To make your search easier, we’ve put together a guide to some of the best dog boarding facilities in Stockholm. It’s a handy resource whenever you need a safe, caring place for your four-legged best friend while you’re away.
Changdobels
Changdobels is one of Stockholm’s largest dog daycare providers, and they also run a popular dog boarding facility in Täby Kyrkby. Set in peaceful countryside surrounded by woodland, meadows, and a small lake, it’s a great place for your dog to stay while you’re away, whether it’s for a summer holiday, a weekend trip, or even just the day. It’s also conveniently located just a short detour from Arlanda Airport.
Dogs stay in comfortable, cosy rooms, and the experienced team takes the time to get to know each dog before their stay. That way, they can match your dog with the accommodation that suits them best. Depending on their personality and preferences, your dog can either have a room of their own or stay with a canine companion.
If you want to treat your dog to something extra special, there are premium boarding options too, including a home-style stay where a member of staff is with them around the clock. The aim is simple: to make sure your dog has just as good a holiday as you do.
Skoby Hundhotell
Everything your dog needs is included, from bedding and bowls to food and fresh water, although you’re welcome to bring their usual food if you prefer. If your dog needs medication, the team takes care of that too. One lovely touch is the daily diary, where the staff write about what your dog got up to, who they played with, and any highlights from the day.
Skoby Hundhotell was founded in 2004 by Kerstin Andersson, who still runs the business together with her experienced team. They take the time to get to know every dog and owner before the stay, helping make sure each guest feels comfortable, settled, and well looked after from day one.
Wädersjö Hundpensionat
Dogs are cared for around the clock and enjoy a calm, structured routine. There are eight spacious kennels, and every dog gets outside five times a day, with time in the exercise yard in the morning as well as walks throughout the day.
Food is included, although you’re welcome to bring your dog’s usual food if that’s what they’re used to. Owner Åsa Sagner and her team make a real effort to get to know every dog, making sure they feel safe, well looked after, and get plenty of exercise and attention throughout their stay.
Ekfalk Animal Center
Dogs enjoy at least two walks a day, along with daily time in a large enclosed play area. The rooms are warm and comfortable, with underfloor heating and direct access to a private outdoor space through a dog flap. Your dog can stay on their own or share with a companion, and feeding follows your usual routine using your own food.
One of the biggest advantages is the convenience. You can leave your dog, park your car, and take the shuttle to Arlanda, making the start of your trip that much easier. On top of boarding, Ekfalk Animal Center also offers dog daycare, grooming services, and a pet shop.
Hundgården Lidingö
During the day, dogs join the activities at Hundgården’s daycare, where they can play, exercise, and spend time with other dogs in a safe and supervised setting. Afterwards, they return to the house to relax and unwind. Walks, playtime, and rest are all adapted to what suits each dog best, helping them feel comfortable throughout their stay.
Hundgården Lidingö has been welcoming dogs for more than ten years and is conveniently located close to both nature and public transport. Alongside boarding, they also offer daycare, dog walking, training classes, and grooming services such as nail trimming.
Hundpensionat Hagen
Gittan has spent most of her life working with animals. She has experience with harness racing horses in both Sweden and the US, has worked in healthcare as both a nursing assistant and a paramedic, and ran a yoga centre for more than 20 years before opening Hagen. Today, she brings all that experience to creating a calm, safe, and caring environment for every dog.
Each dog has their own kennel, and owners bring their dog’s bed, bowls, and food to help them feel at home. Every stay includes four outings a day, including a long walk through the surrounding countryside as well as plenty of time outdoors in the enclosed play areas.
Lyckliga Tassar
Your dog’s wellbeing comes first, and the experienced team takes safety seriously. Because they only welcome up to four boarding dogs at a time, every guest gets plenty of individual attention. Dogs either have a room of their own or share with another calm, compatible dog if that’s the better option. At night, they sleep in their own rooms, and a member of staff is always on site.
During their stay, dogs have everything they need, including comfortable beds, toys, chew treats, and lots of care and attention from the team. Four walks a day are included, so your four-legged friend gets plenty of exercise as well as lots of time to relax and feel at home.
Rover
For many dogs, staying in familiar surroundings is far less stressful than being somewhere new. They get to stick to their normal routine, and you can head away knowing they’re being cared for by an experienced, reliable sitter. If you’d like updates while you’re away, you can easily receive photos and messages through the Rover app. For extra peace of mind, every sitter is independently ID-verified and has reviews from other pet owners, so you know exactly who you’re trusting with your dog.
