Nordic Light Hotel is just as it sounds – bright, airy, and modern.

“Our DNA is Nordic. We promise you a place beyond large anonymous hotels. A lifestyle hotel where design, food, guest, and staff are in focus,” says Linn Björö, Room Division Manager at Nordic Light Hotel.

In 2017, Nordic Light Hotel chose to completely renovate the premises in an exclusive collaboration with the architect Todd Saunders. The vision was to bring to life what makes the Nordic region unique in a mutual design with design manager John Tong and ten Scandinavian furniture designers. Not a single piece of furniture or angle has been added by coincidence.

There are 169 hotel rooms, of which 10 are suites, which are brightly decorated with an emphasis on comfort and harmony. The rooms are equipped with maximum sound-proofing, quality beds for a good night’s sleep, and exclusive Björk and Berries products. The atmosphere exudes Nordic materials with elements from forest and nature, a well-thought-out color scheme, and design that brings meditation and recovery to mind. And then we have what perhaps gives the most peace of mind of all: free wifi.

If the endorphins need a ride, there is a well-equipped gym on site. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a great playlist to kickstart your motivation.

Here you’ll also find Light Meetings — the hotel’s conference center and meeting scene — 15 modernly furnished rooms equipped with the latest technology. The special thing about Light Meetings is that you can adjust the emotional state of the room using lighting (for example, red for energy and blue for calm). It’s an exciting and innovative way to create an atmosphere and inspiration around your meeting or event.

In the mood for something to eat or drink? Have a seat in the hotel’s restaurant LYKKE, where Scandinavian culture and ingredients dominate the kitchen. Chef Robert Hallgren and his team serve playful and modern dishes with elements of the Middle East, southern Europe, and of course the Nordic countries.

“The name LYKKE means happiness. Happiness for us is the joy of life. The joy of life inspired by the season, curiosity, and a desire to learn. Here we offer food that we love to cook and eat ourselves,” says Linn.

A large part of the menu is vegetarian, and the meat and fish dishes served come from the local area. The drinks menu offers locally brewed beer from Nordic micro-distilleries. Behind the ‘fika’ is Nordic Light Hotel’s own confectioner Marita Ahonen who serves everything from healthy raw food alternatives to sugar-filled goodies.

One of Nordic Light Hotel’s many advantages is that it is located in the heart of Stockholm with everything within easy reach: Central Station, shopping, restaurants, and walking paths along the water. The hotel also offers a range of customized package stays. For example, you can combine your accommodation with a visit to ICEBAR, the world’s first permanent ice bar that holds -5 degrees Celsius all year round and is located only a minute away from the hotel. The hotel also hosts events such as Wine o’Clock and Chef’s Table in the restaurant.
