At the end of the 1800s, large street regulations were implemented in Stockholm, and in connection with these Hornsgatan was straightened out and extended to Hornstull. Inspired by Paris, elegant shopping streets were planned in every part of the city. A building added shortly after the turn of the century was the beautiful Art Nouveau house on Hornsgatan 68 where you find K&US today. The entrance hall still features an artfully painted glass ceiling that sets the mood for your visit. Here, in the middle of Hornsgatan, which is now an exciting shopping street, many other unique shops, popular cafés, and restaurants line the street.

The long and narrow store is filled with beautiful garments. The entrance passage eventually opens up to a larger area where, in addition to even more beautiful clothes, you also find accessories and interior design items. Shoes from the French brand Arche, reading glasses from Thorberg, handmade jewelry from Ecuador, velvet shawls, and much, much more.

But, of course, the core business is self-designed clothes. Two main collections per year are developed, with new models but also including the beloved classics produced year after year, in new colors and materials. The basic range mainly includes trousers, jackets, shirts, and dresses. For the seasonal series, unique fabrics are used, sometimes end of stock material, which means that the garments are only made in very small quantities and that the wearer can feel unique in them. The garments are produced using almost exclusively natural fibers. They last long and can usually be aired instead of needing a wash after each use. Another of K&US’s hallmarks is color. Not the colors that have been named the season’s trend colors, but here you will always find a wide range of beautiful colorful garments, making both wearer and viewer happy. Dresses, blouses, kimonos, and more tempt you with decorative patterns and fine details. It is difficult not to fall in love with, and crave, something when visiting K&US.

If the clothes are high-quality here, so is the service. Many customers have been regulars since the 90s and return season after season because they love the tailored garments and know that they will enjoy them for a long time to come. Should you need to have your trousers or skirts shortened, the service is included in the price, and there is a seamstress in place that can help adjust the fit and do alterations. That the customer is thoroughly satisfied is key at K&US.

For those who do not have the opportunity to visit the store, there is a well-stocked webshop. Not only customers from the rest of Sweden shop here, but also many international clothes lovers. However, it is not uncommon for these customers, if they are visiting Stockholm, to come by for a visit to the store. It’s not hard to understand, this is truly a shopping experience out of the ordinary!
