At Allegrine everything is based on classic French cooking and then developed for tasteful perfection. Here, the atmosphere and ambiance are as high a priority as the food, and a visit to the restaurant is a fulfilling experience for all senses.
After 25 years of working at several starred restaurants, Danyel Couet felt he was longing for something sincere and heartfelt. He then decided to start the restaurant Allegrine. Here Danyel pays tribute to his French roots and background in cooking, together with an experienced team led by chef Sebastian Thuresson.
The name Allegrine came into existence just a week before the opening day. Danyel had long gone and thought of a suitable name for the restaurant without finding anything that felt perfect. It was then that he came up with the idea of naming the restaurant after his grandmother, Allegrine, who introduced him to French cuisine and inspired his cooking throughout his life.

The menu consists of a wide range of different dishes and flavors. Danyel is French at heart and this is reflected in the food he serves. Although not all dishes are entirely French, techniques, flavors, and approaches from France and Danyel’s grandmother are constantly used. At Allegrine, the chefs are constantly working to develop and enhance the flavors of traditional dishes. This results in the food being very tasty and when you leave the restaurant you always remember what you have eaten.
At Allegrine the menu is developed and rotated all the time and about every other week there is usually a new dish for the guests to enjoy. At the same time, there are a number of dishes that never disappear and have been there since opening. Amongst those are some real classics and guests’ favorites. These include steak tartare, gaufrette and french toast.
A unique experience at Allegrine is the Kitchen Table. This is a special table closest to the kitchen that can only be booked in advance by eight to twelve people. At the kitchen table, a blind seasonal menu is served. The fixed specially composed menu can contain anything from game to fish and seafood. The idea of the table is that it should remind you of the kitchen table at Danyel’s grandmother’s house in France. Those who eat here should not eat in a hurry, but enjoy the food and be nourished and loved in peace and quiet. The number of servings varies depending on the season, but in general, the arrangement is more like a family dinner where you share different dishes that come in batches.
The goal of the restaurant has always been to create a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Since the opening, all staff has been invited to participate in the development of the restaurant, which has contributed greatly to its popularity. Good service is of course highly prioritized on Allegrine in order to create a personal feeling.
