Nyhet på Chocomania!

0

Chinese tapas at Waipo

0

Yesterday we had dinner at Waipo, an Asian influenced restaurant which offers authentic Chinese food. The menu consists of small dishes so it’s a kind of Chinese tapas. The restaurant is located at Drottninggatan 25, close to Gamla stan, and is really cozy with dim lightning and arm chairs. We went for the à la carte menu but they also have tasting menus with five or eight dishes. The price for one dish was between 45-110 SEK and 2-3 dishes per person was recommended. On the menu you find for example a large selection of different dumplings, crispy duck breast, eggplant…

Dinner at Nomad

Nomad is a small and cozy located just next to Norra bantorget. I have wanted to visit them for a long time and when I saw an offer on The Fork with 30% off on the menu it sealed the deal. On the menu you find ”snapas” which means Swedish inspired tapas such as S.O.S, smoked eel and chanterelle toast. Among the main courses you find for example Swedish meatballs, ”raggmunk” (potato pancake served with bacon and lingonberries) and ham hock served with root mash and mustard creme. I was surprised by the prices, which were much lower than I…

Favorite brunch restaurants

0

Here is a short list on some of my favorite restaurants to go to for a weekend brunch 1. STHLM Brunch Club This is the place to go to for a great brunch in Stockholm. They are open all day so if you want to have breakfast for dinner go for it! The only drawback is that you can’t book a table and it is usually very crowded so be prepared on queuing. Halloumi burger with avocado mash and salsa Eggs Arlington Maybe I can let the pictures speak for themselves 😛 2. Nytorget 6 On the weekend brunch menu you…

Dinner at Brasseriet

0

Yesterday I had dinner at Brasseriet. Brasseriet is located inside the Opera house, but don’t be fooled, it is no tourist trap! I made my reservation with The Fork after seeing the nice reviews. The menu consists of “middle dishes” so it’s not divided into your usual appetizers and mains. Each dish is somewhere in between in size and getting 2-3 dishes per person is recommended. We had two dishes and one dessert which was perfectly satisfying. My first dish was the artichoke with chanterelles, kale and sour cream. After that I had the “Swedish duck” served with black pudding,…

Tapas dinner at Poche36

0

Last Saturday we had a tapas night at Poche 36, located at Södermalmsalléen. It is part of Usine which has both a bistro, Bistro 38, and the less formal tapas bar, Poche 36, in the back. I booked this through The Fork after seeing the nice reviews and an offer for 40% off on the bill, an offer I couldn’t resist 😉 On the menu you find charcuteries, cheese, gambas, small tortilla tacos, beef tartare and risotto among other things. Prices range between 50-100 SEK and 3-4 tapas is recommended per person. My favorites were the beet root carpacio with chevre…

Dinner at Stadshuskällaren

0

This weekend I had dinner at Stadshuskällaren, located in Stockholm city hall on Kungsholmen. The food concept with modern Swedish cuisine influenced by local flavors is created by Andreas Hedlund, who was chef for the Nobel prize dinner in 2013 and the winner of Årets Kock. It is the chef Magnus Santesson that has created the menu with inspiration of Swedish food traditions such as wild meat from the north and seafood from the west coast. The menu follow the seasons and they work closely with farmers and producers around the country. Here you can enjoy a delicious dinner or host an intimate banquet – for parties…

Raw food dinner at Matapoteket

A few weeks ago I partnered up with Danyel to try some raw food at Matapoteket. Matapoteket is   located at Bondegatan 6 in Södermalm and serves organic raw food. The café decor is cute and cozy with lots of plants, pillows and colors. The menu consists of small and big tapas, for example mini pizzas, falafel, soups, salads, and spring rolls. Everything is cooked raw food style of course. We decided to try their mix plate with a selection from their menu, a beet root burger and an acai cake. The mix plate contained carrot falafel, a mini pizza, spring…

Dinner at Mother

Mother is a modern, trendy and spacious restaurant located at Mäster Samuelsgatan 19. The concepts includes a market, restaurant and lounge. Behind the concept are the famous chefs Melker Andersson and  Danyel Couet. The intent is to offer well-balanced food that gives a taste experience. The focus is on health and sustainability, and on the menu you find several vegetarian and vegan alternatives. This goes hand in hand with the restaurant decorations with lots of green plants and natural materials. They are open from early morning to late evening, and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. As you can see, the interior is really nice!…

Lunch tips! Indian Grill at Gärdet

0

Lunch tips if you are working in the area of Gärdet and Värtahamnen! Indian grill, located at Malmvägen 1, serves some really good Indian fusion food. The menu changes every day but there is usually is one vegetarian, one lamb and one chicken dish. We tried a mixed plate with a selection of their today’s special, a super fresh salad, and finished of with vegetarian samosas with fennel and pomegranate seeds. To drink I can strongly recommend their cooling and fresh coconut mint lassi, it balances the spicy food perfectly. Fresh salad with bulgur, feta cheese, figs and watermelon. Mixed…
