Kungliga Filharmonikernas hem<\/h2>\n

Konserthuset \u00e4r sedan 1926 hem \u00e5t orkestern Kungliga Filharmonikerna. Orkestern bildades 1902 under namnet Stockholms Konsertf\u00f6renings Orkester, och spelade till en b\u00f6rjan p\u00e5 Auditorium vid Norra Bantorget. Idag spelar 105 av Sveriges skickligaste musiker i orkestern och under \u00e5ren har de haft svenska, tjeckiska, tyska, ryska, ungerska, amerikanska och finska chefsdirigenter. F\u00f6rutom att spela under nobelprisutdelningen och Polar Music Prize \u00e5ker de ocks\u00e5 p\u00e5 turn\u00e9er och spelar in skivor.<\/p>\n

Ett vinnande bidrag som blev musiktempel<\/h2>\n

N\u00e4r Kungliga Filharmonikerna v\u00e4xte ur sina gamla lokaler vid Norra Bantorget samlade de in pengar till en ny byggnad. I april 1920 utlyste de sedan en t\u00e4vling i tidskriften Arkitekten, d\u00e4r de t\u00e4vlande fick skicka in ritningar p\u00e5 hur det nya konserthuset skulle se ut. Ivar Tengbom hade redan f\u00e5tt en s\u00e4rskild inbjudan och b\u00f6rjade skissa tillsammans med Birger Jonson.<\/p>\n

Deras t\u00e4vlingsbidrag kallades Det r\u00f6da hj\u00e4rtat eftersom den stora konsertsalen blev byggnadens k\u00e4rna, som en innerg\u00e5rd i antikens Grekland, inramad av l\u00e4ktare och kolonner. Det vita taket skulle k\u00e4nnas som ett evigt solsken, och p\u00e5 byggnadens utsida valde han en ovanlig bl\u00e5 f\u00e4rg och en dekorativ kolonnrad. Bland 34 bidrag stod Ivars till slut som segrare, och efter tv\u00e5 \u00e5rs byggande invigdes Stockholms konserthus 7 april 1926.

Ett nyklassicism-tempel som inte bara inspirerades formm\u00e4ssigt av Aten. Konserthuset fick n\u00e4mligen demokratiska publikutrymmen d\u00e4r olika samh\u00e4llsklasser delade ing\u00e5ng, vilket skiljde sig fr\u00e5n Dramaten och Kungliga Operans \u00e5tskilda portar.

Isaac Gr\u00fcnewald fick i uppdrag att utsmycka Lilla salen och genomf\u00f6rde uppdraget p\u00e5 bara sex m\u00e5nader \u00e5r 1925. Numera kallas den f\u00f6r Gr\u00fcnewaldsalen och \u00e4r utsmyckad med Isaacs tak- och v\u00e4ggdekorationer. Italienska ren\u00e4ssanspalats inspirerade Isaac och motiven \u00e4r h\u00e4mtade ur den grekiska mytologin.<\/p>\n

Nobelprisutdelning och julkonsert<\/h2>\n

N\u00e4r Stockholms Konserthus byggdes planerade ocks\u00e5 Nobelstiftelsen att bygga ett Nobelhus. Det blev dock aldrig av, och ist\u00e4llet har nobelprisutdelningen p\u00e5 Konserthuset h\u00e5llits den 10 december varje \u00e5r sedan 1926. P\u00e5 senare \u00e5r har \u00e4ven Polar Music Prize, Litteraturpriset till Astrid Lindgrens minne och Augustpriset delats ut h\u00e4r. Och f\u00f6r oss som inte blivit nominerade till n\u00e5gon av dessa priser har Kungliga Filharmonikerna julkonserter, klassiska konserter och konserter ledda av v\u00e4rldens stj\u00e4rndirigenter, konserter som vem som helst kan k\u00f6pa biljett till.
