What’s better than hanging out on a warm sunny day in Södermalm? Specially if eating delicious pizzas and drinking beers with friends. Swedish summer, best day of the year, right? So let’s make the most of it.
You will be sure to find me here, just chilling, shades on, tasting pizzas and crazy good beers. “Omnipollos Hatt” is somewhat of a hipster temple in this hoods. It makes total sense, they brew their own beers coming up with funky creations and they compliment the menu with fire-wood oven pizzas. Killer combination, if it works for me, it works for everybody I guess, haha.
Their beer menu, as I said, features very particular creations such as Mango Smoothie or Cherry Wood. All the beers are brewed by them or are a result of collaborations with other local breweries. I like beer, I really do, but for me, this eatery is amazing because of their pizza menu.
Let me illustrate you, in a way. From the many times I have been there I have only seen fresh produce and ingredients being prepared by passionate chefs with their flour-covered aprons and hipster looks. You already know that this is something that I cherish and appreciate. The pizza menu consists of 11 creations that change based on the seasons, one “pizza of the month”, and nowadays, two summer pizzas.
This time I tried the May pizza (140 sek), consisting of fresh asparagus, garlic, rosemary, chevre, burnt butter and pine nuts.
A very tasty and fresh combination for a sunny day. The dough is fluffy and a touch crispy (I would actually prefer it crispier) and the ingredients come together just fine. A small suggestions though. As much as I really love to eat greasy foods, in this case the butter was excessive and it was dripping all over, making the pizza a bit soggy.
Other than that, it was a good experience.
I’ll make sure to try out more pizzas to keep you guys posted.
Visit them and experience the Söder vibe, with cool creative Stockholmers mixed with tourists and the international crowd that characterizes this part of town.
The place is a bit small for the amount of crowd that receives, so expect a full house on weekends. It is one of those few places where socializing is very cool and natural, talking over beers, life and whatever floats your boat.
I really love hanging and eating here. If pizzas were healthier I would be there every day, haha.
I hope you are all having a great day, I’ll see you guys soon!
