In the middle of the most popular street amongst tourists in Gamla Stan (The Old Town) is one of my favourite lunch places, Ristorante Paganini. I first set foot in this quaint and charming little restaurant in the beginning of this year and it quickly became my go-to place for a nice lunch. Eating at this beautifully decorated restaurant is the fastest way to experience a little bit of Italy. Especially during the summer months when they open the windows all the way and you can sit there with a glass of wine and enjoy the beauty that is Swedish summer.
Today my mother and I decided to pay them a little visit again and enjoy yet another perfect lunch, and as always Paganini fails to disappoint. You’re instantly greeted with open arms and a smile before being seated, and I always struggle choosing just one thing from the menu just because everything sounds that good. Today however, we went for the fillet of beef with green pepper sauce and a potato gratin. Needless to say that I was in seventh heaven from the first bite!
Established in 1995, Michele and Oscar wanted to create a genuine restaurant with the perfect combination of simple and more advanced creations from all regions of Italy. This award winning restaurant also takes inspiration from the typical Swedish cuisine for their lunch specials (flashback to the incredible Swedish meatballs I had there a few months ago) and later at night you can find an exciting a la carte and a wide wine list. If you haven’t payed this restaurant a visit yet I highly advice you go there as soon as possible. This place will be one of the places I’ll miss the most when I leave Stockholm!
