Franky’s Burger opened its doors in 2013 and is now located on Tegnérgatan 16 in Vasastan and on Blekingegatan 36 in Södermalm. That the people behind the burger bar are a nice bunch who loves burgers and who are passionate about making their guests feel comfortable is undeniably clear. This is the perfect place to spontaneously come by to chill, hang out and not least enjoy a drink or two – of course with one of the restaurant’s famous burgers in front of you.
It was after a trip to the US that Shahram Alavi, founder of Franky’s Burger, fell in love with hamburgers. The trip was, to say the least, an inspiration to bring high-quality and genuinely made street food to the streets of Stockholm. Back home, he started Franky’s, then as a street kitchen on Sveavägen, which quickly grew into one of the city’s most popular burger joints. The importance of the restaurant being one of the first to introduce the smash burger in Sweden should not be underestimated. The love for the ingredients, the craftsmanship, and the guests, combined with genuine passion, is reflected in the food. The hamburger restaurant’s many loyal regulars are clear proof that what is delivered here always maintains a high level – and that applies to both food and service.
The menu consists of high-quality burgers made from Swedish meat from KRAV-certified Siljans Chark in Dalarna – a collaboration that the restaurant is justifiably very proud of. All meat, which is farm-marked on delivery, comes from local farms and every week the master butcher selects the finest prime rib exclusively for Franky’s Burger.

The menu is anything but superfluous, a testament to quality over quantity. Franky’s Favorite is something of a flagship, a hugely popular burger served with silver onions, pickles, double cheese, mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard. A true classic that people flock to get their teeth into. The Original Burger is unsurprisingly an obvious original with dressing, lettuce, tomato, pickled red onion, and melted cheese. The Miami Heat is heated with fresh jalapeño and black pepper cheese, the Texas burger is dressed with smoky BBQ sauce, while the Lafayette burger gets its grown-up flavor from the blue cheese. All burgers can be ordered as a single or double – 160 or 230 grams.
You can also get all the dishes in a vegetarian version with a mince based on broccoli, cauliflower, kale, potatoes, onions, and eggs. This no-frills burger joint comes with three different types of fries, dipping sauces, and extra toppings. There is also a large selection of beer and wine and a variety of non-alcoholic options. The beer selection is particularly impressive. There are several exciting varieties of bottled beers as well as beers on tap, and what is offered for the evening is continuously updated.
Everyone is welcome here! The aim is to make everyone feel at home and be full, satisfied, and already looking forward to the next visit when the plates are scraped clean. The typical guest? A hungry person between 20-100 years old who is looking for the best hamburger in Sweden!
Those who are curious about what Franky’s Burger has going on should keep an eye on their social media. This spring, a completely new and exciting food court concept will open in Täby, in which Franky’s will participate.
