Café Dignity – Experience exciting flavors from Chile in the city center
On one of Stockholm’s most vibrant and pulsing streets, Kungsgatan, thousands of people pass every day on their way to work or in the middle of shopping. Between Regeringsgatan and Norrlandsgatan you will find one of Stockholm’s most centrally located cafés – Chilean Café Dignity.
“La casa es chica pero el corazón es grande”
“The house is small but the heart is big”. This Spanish proverb is often mentioned in Dignity, and it is certainly true. A small café in the middle of Stockholm, which with great love offers tasty experiences from South America. But that the café should be small is not something you think about when you are inside Dignity. Here, you are fulfilled with warmth from the personnel, aromas from all the spicy food, and enjoying a Chilean entrecote sandwich. While enjoying the ambiance at Dignity, you can look out on Kungsgatan through the large windows and take in the crowds outside.

The doors to the café opened in 2021, and for the owner José it was natural to open something in the downtown area of Stockholm. He believes that Stockholm with its mix of different cultures, food, experiences, and music is a welcoming city, where there is something for everyone. The only thing missing was a café focusing on South American flavors and dishes from Chile.
And you can really experience South American cuisine at Dignity. All dishes offer incredible flavors. The solid menu offers something for all the day’s meals, from breakfast to hearty lunch sandwiches, and other dishes that saturate as well as a lovely selection of pastries and desserts for the sweet tooth.
The seafood soup, Paila Marina, comes from Valparaiso and is hugely popular, as are the aforementioned entrecote sandwiches, especially among Chileans living in or visiting Stockholm. Also from Peru, Bolivia and Uruguay come special dishes such as Empanadas, Pastel de Choclo, Completo Italiano, Torta de Milhojas, Cachitos, and Chilenito, which offer flavors you rarely find in a café in Stockholm.
Offering that little extra has become Dignity’s hallmark. Many guests have roots in Chile but also other curious people who want to try something new come here. There are very few Chilean restaurants in Sweden, so the fact that Dignity has opened its doors gives more people an opportunity to try dishes from South American cuisine. Café Dignity will also begin organizing events and celebrating Chilean feast days, so guests can enjoy more of South American culture than the food.
Welcome to Café Dignity!
