Stockholm to Riga weekend Cruise

0

Hi everybody! I hope you had a lovely weekend – I know I did! Last week, my friend Matilda and I were out celebrating her recent promotion. We were catching up and she was telling me about this 2 night cruise she wanted to go which went to Riga and back. So we decided to spontaneously book it for the weekend. We got on the cruise in Stockholm on the Friday evening at 4:30pm and arrived in the capital City of Latvia at 10:30am on Saturday morning. We stayed in Riga for 6 hours where we explored the old town,…

Tasty Tapas in Stockholm

0

I had heard great things about Sthlm Tapas… but hadn’t yet been to check it out for myself. My boyfriend and I have a favourite tapas restaurant back home which we love to go to, but it’s always hard to get in. So Sthlm Tapas had some big shoes to fill. I made a reservation for Saturday night at 7:30pm. The restaurant has quite a Spanish feel – as most tapas restaurants do… but this one serves food from all around the world which was great! I immediately noticed how great the service was – our waitress was very attentive…

Tiki Room for Tasty Cocktails

0

Last night I went to Tiki Room – a fab little hidden gem where they serve amazing cocktails in St Eriksplan. With a huge selection of cocktails to choose from on the menu… we were totally spoiled for choice. We shared about 8 cocktails between us but my absolute favourite was The Hurricane. A little more pricy than the others but it was much larger and lasted longer so at least I got my money’s worth.  Drinking in general in Stockholm is expensive.. and these cocktails ranged from around 100kr upwards. But if you fancy splashing out or it’s a…

Keeping Cosy with Colmar

0

Hi everybody! Happy New Year! Sorry I’ve been quiet for a while. In December I headed back to the U.K for Christmas and New Year. I had such a wonderful time. I spent plenty of time with friends and family just generally enjoying the holiday season. Plenty of parties and meals out and catching up with everybody. It’s been amazing! But I’m back to reality and back in Stockholm now – and it feels great to be back! My first thought landing in Stockholm was just how much the temperature has dropped since I left in December. Of course I…

A Visit From The In-Laws

So last weekend my boyfriends parents flew into the City. We got up to all sorts – I documented the whole thing on video so you guys can watch it if you like! Enjoy!

Exit Games

0

The Exit Games was a totally new experience for me. I have never done anything like it before but it was so much fun! This experience is perfect for families, friends or co-workers to go and do together and is a really effective team bonding experience. We did the Viking experience. The idea was that we found ourselves in a tomb after dying in battle. The tomb is very small and very boring, but there is a way out! Once you find your way out to Valhalla (heaven, I think) you will achieve eternal life and party forever. The downside…

Watch Out!

0

You’ve probably heard the saying “You can always judge a man by his watch”. We judge others based on their appearance. It could be what you look like, what you’re wearing, your attitude, your mood, stance, the people you’re with and even where you met. It isn’t fair, but it’s the truth. We all do it, even if its subconsciously. Usually our mind is made up about someone within the first 7 seconds of meeting them… so first impressions are very important. I learned to tell the time when I was 5 years old. Ever since I can remember, I…

The Best of the British Pubs!

0

With being British and living in Stockholm, I found it vitally important to find a good British-styled pup to go to every so often. When my Dad came to visit a couple of weeks ago, we stumbled across The Bull and Bear in Östermalm. It’s a very typical British pub. Lit by candle light, they have done a cracking job with the interior and the drinks are great! They have a huge selection of beer on tap and even a special Gin and Tonic menu! But the smell. How? How did they manage to get it to smell the same? Walking…

A Hidden Gem

0

When it came to exploring our own neighbourhood – that was fairly easy. It didn’t take us very long to discover a nice local bar within walking distance of our new little flat. Piren is a lovely little restaurant/bar set in a beautiful waterfront location. This isn’t somewhere you’ll stumble across if you’re staying in the city centre. It’s tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city and if you don’t know your way around, you’ll be better to get a taxi here. But if you happen to be in the neighbourhood… it’s well worth a visit for…

My Favourite Hang-Out Spot

0

Being new to the City, I had no idea where to go for a good meal at a restaurant apart from what I had read online. So this meant exploring had to begin immediately. I stumbled across HAYMARKET in Hotorget Square earlier this year when I came to Stockholm on holiday. I wondered inside to find the prettiest, chic coffee place called Gretas. I didn’t have time to go inside and have a drink back then… so I put it on my list of things to do once I moved here, and I couldn’t wait to go. Step inside this…

Introducing Olivia

0

Hello everybody! Welcome to my page. I plan to write about and share with you my favourite places/things in Stockholm with a hint of fashion and beauty too. The reason I have decided to start doing this (blogging publicly) is because before I moved to Stockholm… sure, I had heard of it, and I knew where it was. But I didn’t have a clue what was here, why I would ever want to come here and I had certainly had no motivation to actually want to visit. I feel that sometimes a modest city like Stockholm can get overshadowed by…
