My Story

I was born in Stockholm on a hot summer day in July; I’m half Chilean on my father’s side and part Spanish and German from my mother’s. I have the typical Latina fire mixed with the typical Swedish ways. I’ve lived in Stockholm my entire life and I feel truly blessed having grown up in such a beautiful and versatile country as Sweden. Growing up with a Latin family, food and good Company has always been in focus. I learned to cook at a young age standing next to my parents in the kitchen by observing and doing, but it wasn’t long until I started making dinner for the family and baking for birthdays and parties. Having an artistic side, I’ve always loved to work with my hands and let my creativity flow, you can always count on seeing me cooking, taking pictures or working on the computer with editing or writing, something that holds a very special place in my heart. I love nothing more than to express myself through my work and being able to share it with the people I care about.

But it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I started getting into the whole fitness lifestyle from an unfortunate event that struck my family that left me with a spot at the Midnattsloppet run in 2012. Before that I had never shown any interest for sports or training. So having adopted my new found love for exercise and working out I found a way to combine that with my passion for cooking, so by using Instagram that was fairly new at the time I stared sharing my progress and food pictures. While there, I realized that there’s a big community for people interested in fitness and healthy food, so I found like-minded people that were helpful, encouraging and inspiring to help each other out and of course I wanted to be a part of that community. I’ve blogged and used social media to be like the people I looked up to. I too wanted to inspire, help and motivate people to change their lives for the better just like I had. So since that year, that’s exactly what I’ve been trying to do through my page, pictures and words. The response I’ve gotten is unbelievable and it’s beautiful how many people, strangers I haven’t even met before, showed an interest in my story, people that turned to me for help, who have all been where I once was. It has always been my goal and dream in life to help and make a difference in the world, so being able to do just that in small ways fills me with such indescribable joy and happiness.

Looking back, it all started out with this little page on Instagram that grew bigger, and now I’m here blogging with the wonderful team that makes View Stockholm and it makes me feel blessed being given the opportunity to keep doing what I love and have the opportunity to take it further. So with this I hope that you will enjoy my new blog here where I will share my recipes and look into my daily life and follow me on my journey doing what I love the most. Until then, stay golden.
