Italiano belongs to a group of restaurants called Gruppo Italiano, which, in addition to Italiano, consists of the restaurants Papà and Ciccio’s and the Italiano Bar. The owners, the Ottobre family, started Italiano in 1989, and today Angelo’s son and his closest friends have taken over the reins.

Restaurant Italiano has long been well-known among Stockholm’s diners, a reliable and affordable Italian restaurant since its opening, complete with chequered tablecloths and candles in Chianti bottles. Two years ago, when the restaurant underwent a renovation, an upgrade of the interior design and culinary arts to a modern Italian restaurant of international standard, inspired by New York and London, was completed.

The men behind the transformation are Vincenzo Caratozzolo, Marsel Ottobre, Toto Li Donni, and Marco Baudone. Vincenzo has worked in the family business since he came to Sweden in 2017. With a background in Sicily and experience from fine Italian restaurants in Melbourne and elsewhere, he has brought a new, international vibe to Italiano.

The welcoming staff, dressed in white shirts and black suspenders, most of whom are Italian, greet you with a smile and immediately create a sense of hospitality.
