Do you like design, interior decoration, and home textiles? Do you want to know about the latest trends? Then you will definitely have a blast during January 14 to 17 when once again it’s time for the trade fair Formex in Stockholm, the biggest meeting place for Nordic interior design and gift items.
At Formex, held in January and August each year, 850 exhibitors, 25,000 national and international visitors, and over 800 media representatives are gathered at Stockholm International Fairs (only 9 minutes by commuter train from Stockholm city). This is where the business people do their spring purchasing and get updated on the latest trends. The fair has been held since 1960 and is open to anyone working in the fields of gifts, home textiles, interior design, furnishings, fashion, delicacies/food, and toys.
Highlights at Formex
Besides all the exhibitors, Formex offers a number of highlights which you should not miss. If you want to be fully updated on the hottest spring trends 2015, visit the exhibition at the Stockholm International Fairs square where the spring trends are presented: Nordic Neat, Nordic Essence, Nordic Fitness, and Nordic Folk. If you want to get both your needs for food and interior design satisfied, you should go for the pop-up restaurant Nordic Eat. Here the focus is on Nordic food, and it’s a combined exhibition and restaurant where the interior is just as important as the food.
Other great tips are the contest Stockholm’s best cream bun (called ”semla” in Swedish) where bakeries and pastry shops in the Stockholm area are competing, Young Designers, a fair platform for young unestablished designers, where tomorrow’s design stars are displaying their creations, and the annual design award Formex Formidable which honors and rewards interesting, qualitative and modern design. Additionally, you can visit the many lectures held during the fair’s four days, many of them free.
In other words, you should definitely not miss this fair if you are interested in design, interior decoration, and everything related to it. See you at Formex!
