Drink Your Greens

I feel like the hardest thing to get in my diet is enough healthy greens, not to mention that I find it so incredibly boring just sitting there eating somewhat flavourless leafs. If anything it makes me feel like a rabbit on an all grass diet. So the easiest thing for me is to drink my greens to get it in my daily diet and routine, either by making it myself or having it at my favourite juice and smoothie place.

I’ve learned that the grosser, the better. At least that’s what I tell myself while holding my breath when drinking a kale, cucumber, celery and spinach juice. Because what’s good about it except for the obvious vitamin bomb it contains? Not the flavour, that’s for sure. But I’m
not here to tell you to drink it now (not yet anyway) – instead I’m going to ease in to it with this easy to make Green Smoothie that’s my “go to”-smoothie for that extra healthy boost I’m finding myself needing these cold winter days. All you need are these five ingredients and a mixer.

For one person:

1 big handful of spinach
1 banana
1 orange
1-2 tbsp unsweetened apple sauce
1-2 tsp barley grass powder (or any other green powder for extra nutrition)

Mix it all in a blender until smooth and drink!
